Hopefully we will flock together again, as birds are our muse today in all their styles. Do we envy their freedom to fly? Admire their plumage? Or marvel at their endless variations? Whatever draws us to birds, they make an excellent subject.

  Whether an accurate watercolour study or an expressive mixed media piece, we will need to consider proportions, shapes and character just as we would in a portrait. Observing and interpreting a bird depending on our style, we can capture these creatures in oh so many ways.  We’ll consider some examples, warm up, then get to creating our own homage to birds whether in a portrait, decorative or abstracted style. Do bring your favourite photos, to add to mine, for inspiration.

Students paint for all sorts of reasons ...skills, an enjoyable hobby, health, social life, self-expression and so on. Liana’s sessions are considered good value, inspiring and packed with tips: several serious students have gone on to sell their work.

Liana is a seasoned trainer, therapist and artist, skilled at breaking down learning steps ,instilling confidence and creating a warm,fun, supportive atmosphere. All students are invited to join her Artist’s Circle community for free challenges, news and guidance.
