Tess Challenger B.A Cert.Ed
For as long as I can remember, I have always drawn and painted. I grew up with a paintbrush in my hand.
I graduated from the Open University with a B. A. Degree, and attended the University College of North Wales where I qualified as a primary school teacher. Over a forty year period, I taught in England, Wales and Spain. I have also worked as an associate tutor for the University of Plymouth and have run my own adult art classes.
In recent years, I decided to pursue a lifelong dream and focus upon my artistic development.
I am inspired by the breathtaking scenary around Dawlish and Teignmouth, and can often be found working outdoors, creating watercolour paintings “en plein air “.
I also adore wildlife, so enjoy creating detailled animal studies. My gouache paintings attempt to replicate the finite details of fur or feathers as well as capturing the individual character of the animal itself.
I sincerely hope that you like my work.

A selection of Tess's work will be on display in our Main Foyer from 30th September until 25th October. All pieces will be available to buy and entry to view artwork is, as always, free of charge.
