Improvers' Photography Session
Event details
- Event times:
- Start : 3.00pm
- Venue : Pavilions Teignmouth - Meeting Room
This session is designed for those who have a basic understanding of shutter speed, aperture and ISO but who want to practise using their cameras out and about on a photo walk with guidance from our tutor.
You will practice capturing and showing movement playing with shutter speeds, controlling depth of field to show blurry backgrounds or clear backgrounds using the aperture setting and controlling image quality using your ISO settings.
The balance of settings will be practised throughout the sessions with a look at semi-automatic settings and manual mode when necessary.
We will look at composition, light and shade, using ND filters, how to ‘see’ an image and lots of other aesthetic properties. This Autumn afternoon session challenges us to use our camera settings appropriately in low light.
We will look at how to use available light in our scene, how to take long exposures and we’ll use a tripod to make the most of your evening photos.
Thursday 24th October 3.00pm to 5.00pm
£45 for a 2-hour session.
"What a fantastic course, thank you Gemma. You are such a patient lady, I learnt everything I was hoping to. I highly recommend your course and as soon as I am confident with everything you have given me to work on, I will be back to do your follow-up course.
