FEB 7 EXPRESSIVE DRAWING WITH BAMBOO PEN & OTHER TOOLS. NEW! 10.30-4.30 £67 [Beginners & improvers] Inks.
Working on our drawing skills is a must, either as regular practice to train our hand and eye co-ordination as a precursor to painting or as a charming art in it’s own right. Yet we can take it much further than the pencil! Drawing can be sensitive and subtle or downright rough and bold!
After a very generous gift of several hand carved bamboo pens from a student, [thankyou, thankyou] we will use this chinese tool to explore a vigorous, expressive style of drawing natural forms. Trained in the chinese style by Rebecca Yue, Liana will lead you through a warm up and clear demos , experimenting with the pen and other tools as we explore lines and styles that suit natural forms. It's as simple as using her ABC process!
This is a very freeing approach and with a little practice achievable by beginners upwards. Be prepared for lots of sketches, inky paws and an absorbing day. You just need any ink and paper! [ and a few things from home].
Materials suggestions here, allow time to gather!
Come and see our new style, at a glance programme here, We have new courses and are back to fuller days and half days following your feedback. With a ‘meet the tutor’ session to get a feel for Liana’s well-structured, progressive classes [ come and ask any questions]; lots of speciality workshops with fun techniques in differing mediums and a series of ongoing courses to come and learn or improve your watercolour or acrylic painting. Hopefully there’s something for everyone, come and treat yourself to a day of painting in a light airy studio, with good company and always some laughter and surprises!
‘I always leave class with a whole host of new skills, but more than that I have a new energy and belief in myself to carry forward into my art, my life. If you want to get your artistic mojo back, sign up! I can’t thank you enough’. C.D. 2023
