Celebrating its 50th anniversary, for the first time cinema audiences will be able to enjoy the re-mastered, restored and re-orchestrated film.
Nureyev, regarded as the greatest male ballet dancer of all time, was at the peak of his career when this film was made.
In 1973, Rudolph Nureyev directed, choreographed and starred in The Australian Ballet’s acclaimed film of Don Quixote with cinematography by academy award winner Geoffrey Unsworth (Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and Bob Fosse’s Cabaret).
To celebrate this 50th Anniversary cinema release, audiences can experience for the first time the remastered film on the big screen, preceded by a special documentary on the making of this landmark ballet film that according to Dance Magazine is ‘The finest full length dance film ever’.
