Often, I hear on workshops, ’there’s never enough time to finish a painting!’. Well today you have all day! After a short introduction to focus students on their strengths, aims and style, we’ll jump straight in to a painting. Liana will then work with each of you in turn to discuss your painting, potential development, style and goals, continuing to offer 1 to 1 support throughout the day as we paint in a studio atmosphere.

This is a chance to have more time to paint with good company, to reflect on your painting and discuss room for improvement. In the 7 Habits of Successful Artists, we are reminded that practice and quantity of painting is key, but also that conscious learning is necessary so we don’t repeat errors. Often, we chase exciting new skills and materials but every student needs time to consolidate their learning to develop.

Individual teaching will be offered as required, as appose to the usual skills teaching section. Ideally you will pre-plan an idea for a painting so you can dive in, but as ever, Liana’s will be full of ideas and encouragement! There’s even a little homework beforehand- do see the materials guide.
